Partner Announcement

We are delighted to announce that we have appointed three of our outstanding senior associates as Partners within Miley & Miley LLP: Majella Ellis, Kevin Kennedy and Ursula Cullen.

Majella Ellis is a key member of the firm’s Private Client Department, where she advises both private and commercial clients on a broad range of legal matters with over 16 years of experience holding a Master’s in International Law from the University of Edinburgh, as well as an Honours Bachelor’s degree in Corporate Law and an LLB from the National University of Ireland.

Majella has extensive experience, both in the banking sector (EBS, Certus & Bank of Ireland during the property crash) and in the private sector.  Experienced in advising on the acquisition, financing, sale and leasing of a wide variety of commercial properties including industrial spaces, licensed premises, retail premises and agricultural land and advising on Solar Farms and Wind Farms in connection with their property related issues.

Majella is actively involved in advising on the acquisition and leasing of public houses and advising the hospitality industry and the challenges involved from a legal and practical perspective.

Kevin Kennedy qualified as a solicitor in 2007 and joined the firm in 2017. He holds an LL.B. degree from the University of Wales and is also a Notary Public for the City of Dublin and the Counties of Kildare, Wicklow and Meath.

Kevin is an experienced commercial property solicitor with a proven record in advising on complex and high-value transactions. His practice covers the full spectrum of commercial conveyancing, acting for landlords, tenants, investors, and developers across a wide range of sectors. He regularly advises on acquisitions and disposals of retail parks, business parks, and commercial properties, as well as on property refinancing matters.

He also acts for property developers from initial site acquisition and development finance through to the ultimate sale of completed units, providing comprehensive legal support throughout the entire project.

Kevin has represented clients before the High Court and Commercial Court in injunction and landlord-and-tenant proceedings, giving him a deep understanding of litigation risk and dispute resolution within the property sector.

He is known for his practical, commercially focused approach, delivering clear, strategic advice and ensuring transactions progress efficiently. His priority is always to achieve outcomes that advance his clients’ business objectives while safeguarding their legal and commercial interests.

Ursula Cullen has been promoted to the position of Partner in the firm’s Litigation Department and brings over 13 years of extensive legal experience to her role. She began her legal career as a Barrister, appearing before all courts in Ireland, before qualifying as a Solicitor in Ireland, England and Wales, and the British Virgin Islands, where she also holds the title of Solicitor Advocate. Ursula’s dual background as both a barrister and a solicitor gives her a unique and strategic perspective in litigation. She advises a diverse portfolio of private and commercial clients across a broad spectrum of litigation matters, including commercial disputes and employment claims.

Ursula’s qualifications include a Barrister of Law Degree, an LLB (Hons) Irish Law Degree together with various Diplomas and Certificates on a range of legal related topics.

These appointments reflect not only the exceptional legal expertise of these three solicitors, but also their unwavering commitment to our clients, colleagues, and the firm’s values.

John G. Walsh has stepped down as a Partner but will remain part of Miley & Miley LLP as a Consultant, continuing to provide his expertise and guidance to the firm and its clients.
